2016 is expected to be another challenging year for social housing providers. Right to buy legislation, plus a 1% reduction in social housing rents squeezing income from April 2016 represent the obvious headlines, but there are also likely to be issues for tenants who face ongoing, but uncertain welfare reform.

As the New Year commences BMG Research is continuing to provide research and insight for a number of social landlords. We have recently been commissioned to Gravesham Borough Council’s Housing Service to carry out an independent survey of its residents by phone and by Charnwood Borough Council to run a postal survey exploring perceptions of key services. February will also see us run a large scale postal satisfaction survey on behalf of Northwards Housing, the fifth consecutive time  BMG Research has been asked to run this project.

This activity follows the delivery of a dozen similar social housing related projects in the last quarter of 2015.  If you would like more information on the nature of these projects and how the learnings from these might be applied to future tenant and/or leaseholder consultations please contact steve.handley@bmgresearch.co.uk  or jack.harper@bmgresearch.co.uk .
