BMG is pleased to work with Public Health England (PHE) to undertake a Tracking Survey of Parental Attitudes to Childhood Immunisation. The tracking survey explores the attitudes of parents to childhood immunisation to inform the planning of the childhood immunisation programme. The surveys are undertaken on an annual basis and the results build on previous tracking surveys completed over a 20 year period.
Public Health England exists to protect and improve the nation’s health and wellbeing, and reduce health inequalities. It does this through world-class science, knowledge and intelligence, advocacy, partnerships and the delivery of specialist public health services. PHE is an operationally autonomous executive agency of the Department of Health.
BMG’s experienced and professional researchers will interview at least 1,000 parents of children aged 0-2 and 1,000 parents of children aged 3-4, on an England-wide basis, using face to face computer-assisted interviewing. BMG interviewers will be interviewing in randomly selected locations from January 2020 through to April 2020 and will be recruiting door-to-door for parents of these age groups.
The survey takes approximately 25 minutes to complete and covers parents’ experience of the service offered, trust in healthcare providers and how these relate to their acceptance of the programme, decision-making about vaccination and beliefs about risk of vaccination versus risk of disease. Respondents do not require any prior knowledge to take part. The BMG interviewer guides respondents through the interview, using prompt cards where appropriate.
