Spending time up-front to understand the goals and agree the core objectives provides a level of focus that can often be lacking. What specific questions need to be answered? What decisions do we need to make? What are the different factors that influence these? Addressing these issues enables us to determine exactly what information is required; we design with the end in mind.
We need to identify what’s important to ensure we are evaluating the right things; avoiding too many nice-to-knows and focusing on the information we need to achieve our objectives. Stakeholder engagement workshops serve two purposes in this regard; (i) helping to optimise the program design and (ii) ensuring that key stakeholders are bought-in from the beginning – critical to the success of any program. We have a structured approach to stakeholder engagement that maximises the impact of this element, and ensures the program focuses on what’s important.
