The survey has been conducted once every three years since 1999, and is a key way in which NHSGGC monitors and measures the health of the population, including health behaviours, perceptions of the local area, financial wellbeing, and use of health services. In 2014, current topical issues such as attitudes to e-cigarettes and pre-loading of alcohol before going on a night out were explored amongst others. Close to 9,000 face to face household interviews are to be conducted with a random sample of residents, using CAPI technology. Interviews are taking place across August to December 2014.
