BMG Research has been recommissioned by the Money Advice Service (MAS) to follow-up with participants of a pioneering research project about the financial capability of children and young people. The study has previously interviewed parents and their children in the spring and summer of 2016 and 2017, seeking to understand what they thought about money, key behaviours and how they manage their finances.
The re-contact survey is designed to track the financial capability of the young people that were aged 15-17 at the time of the 2016 survey.
The core aims of the project are to see if the Money Advice Service can understand more about:
• How young people manage their money, and whether this has changed since 2016
• What financial decisions children of different ages and life-stages are able to make
• How MAS can help families manage their money better in the future.
Our researchers will be re-contacting you directly from May 2018, so please keep a look out for one of our regional interviewers. Alternatively, you people can complete the survey at your own convenience online. All eligible households will be notified by email or post in advance. Your invitation email/letter will contain your unique login code and full instructions about how to complete the survey and collect your reward.
This follow-up will take place in May 2018, and the survey will last around 20 minutes. Both child and parent will each receive £10 worth of Love2Shop vouchers. This can be used in a wide variety of retail and entertainment stores.
Please be aware that all information collected will be confidential and stored in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act. BMG Research is a company partner of the Market Research Society (MRS) and abides by their rules.
