This week Leicester were crowned champions of the Premier League for the first time in the clubs history following a tense 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

In BMG’s latest polling, BMG asked a nationally representative sample of UK adults who they thought would win the Premier League, with about 5 games to go. Of those who are interested in football, seven in ten correctly predicted Leicester to win (69%), followed by Tottenham (7%) and then Man City (4%) (20% don’t know).

Please note fieldwork took place between 22nd and 26th April 2016

A closer look at the data reveals an unsurprising location divide.

Those in the Midlands were much more likely to think that Leicester would win the league (74% East Midlands and 76% West Midlands), whilst 10% of Londoners thought Tottenham would win and 11% in the North West said it would be Man City.

The poll also asked the public who they think will be relegated from the Premier League. Watch this space to find out these results soon.
