A poll by BMG Research for the British Foreign Policy Group has found that more than half (52%) of British people support the UK staying in the Paris Climate Agreement.
Of those asked, just 16% of people said they would scrap it.
This revelation comes just a day after US President Donald Trump announced his decision to pull America out of the treaty.
The move was publicly condemned by political and business leaders across the globe.
Here in the UK the major party leaders also criticised the decision, with one notable exception – Theresa May has yet to speak on the matter.
Interestingly, nearly half (48%) of Conservative supporters also said they would keep the Paris agreement, and just over a quarter (26%) said it should be scrapped.
