On Wednesday 14th May BMG Research attended and exhibited at the 2014 HR in Housing Conference. This wide ranging and informative event provided a wealth of detailed information about many of the HR issues social landlords currently face, with many fresh perspectives provided from outside the sector. While specialist sessions were provided on subjects ranging from employment law to employee wellbeing, several sessions returned to the common themes of understanding employee  perspectives on structural change, managing talent and aspirations and understanding how to improve communications with staff. These discussions re-enforced our own experience of employee engagement research in both the public and private sector which has shown all of these themes to be hugely important.  Enhancing  our own experiences with fresh perspectives from a range of social landlords and other innovators meant the day provided considerable insight for us to share with our housing sector clients.
