Today BMG Research releases polling commissioned by the Electoral Reform Society. The research considers people’s views on the House of Lords and results suggest that just 10% of the UK public think that the Lords should remain a fully unelected chamber.

Interestingly, this view appears to be broadly universal, with relatively low levels of support for the Lords remaining a fully appointed chamber across a broad spectrum of society. Young or old, from the North or south, those on the left, those on the right, those who are interested in politics, and those who are not all support reform in large numbers.
