Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) commissioned BMG Research to undertake a study of the general public’s perceptions of their local Police force across England and Wales.

The survey was undertaken in June and July 2018 and consisted of 17,043 completed surveys across 42 local Police force areas.  The surveys covered the public’s views and experiences of local Police, including perceptions of image and reputation, representativeness, engagement with their Police force and opinions on what the priorities of the Police should be.

The results will be used to inform HMICFRS departmental strategy and inspection reports.

The report on the findings can be found here.

The questionnaire can be found here.
