Role Purpose:

  • Working as a core member of the quantitative research team directly managing and developing a team of junior researchers to deliver a portfolio of projects to client satisfaction.
  • Projects will predominantly be in the public/quasi-public arena i.e. regulated industries and be both B2C and B2B. Projects typically focus on one of Customer Experience, Employee Experience, public perceptions, Communication / Campaign Evaluation or Behaviour Change.
  • Supports and contributes to business development via contribution to proposals and participation in business development activities e.g. client discovery meetings.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day client management: liaising directly with clients, setting and managing expectations and delivering to agreed deadlines and specification
  • Project management: developing project plans, monitoring and ensuring progress, liaison with operational colleagues, managing project budgets.
  • Insight and deliverable development: leading the development of impactful insight linked to client and project objectives, and participating in the delivery of these.

Key skills:

  • Client management: Ability to build mutually beneficial client partnerships based on openness, honesty and trust
  • Insight development: Ability to understand and identify client’s issues, develop insights from research and deliver in an impactful way
  • Line management: Ability to lead and develop team of entry-level juniors (2-4 people)
  • Core research skills: questionnaire design and development, sampling knowledge, statistical analysis techniques (understand the purpose of the techniques and how to apply)

Advantageous skills:

  • Ability to produce strong, compelling research proposals
  • Experience of undertaking qualitative research i.e. focus groups and depth interviewing
  • Ability to undertake analysis in typical research software e.g. Q, Desktop Reporter, SPSS

Person Specification

  • Degree qualification
  • A high standard of attention to detail
  • At least 3 years research experience gained in a market research agency
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability
  • Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research techniques
  • Able to build personal relationships
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team
  • Excellent presentation skills with the confidence to deliver presentations to a wide audience
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, manage and organise own and others work effectively
