Just days before the General Election, BMG’s Research Director & Head of Polling, Michael Turner, will be among an esteemed panel of speakers contributing at a joint event hosted by the British Foreign Policy Group and Birmingham City University.

The event entitled ‘UK election and foreign policy – Brexit & Beyond’, will discuss the UK’s international position and choices at a critical time for our country.

Bringing together political, business, expert and civil society perspectives, the meeting will focus on how the entire UK, including resurgent cities and regions such as Birmingham and the West Midlands, can seize new opportunities to secure our safety, prosperity and international influence for regional and national benefit.

Results from an exclusive national poll undertaken by BMG Research on behalf of the BFPG – which suggest that people across the country would like to be more engaged in foreign policy – will also be launched on the day.

Other speakers will include:

Crispin Blunt – Conservative Candidate for Reigate and former Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee

Geoff Hoon – Former Labour Defence Secretary

Baroness Smith of Newham – Liberal Democrat Peer

Rt Reverend David Urquhart – The Bishop of Birmingham

Tom Cargill – British Foreign Policy Group

Professor Alex de Ruyter – Director of Centre for Brexit Studies
