Research undertaken by BMG on behalf of the Welsh Government into the extent and impact of increased travel on 14-19 learners as a result of the implementation of the Learning and Skills (Wales) Measure 2009 which aims to improve outcomes and attainment for 14-19 learners in Wales has now been published.

The research, conducted between February and May 2013 included an online survey of all 222 secondary schools in Wales, analysis of Welsh Government management information, and the production of 8 case studies based upon in-depth consultations with representatives from local authorities, Headteachers and curriculum staff in schools, and learners aged 14-19 who had undertaken additional travel to learn as a result of the measure.
