BMG Research has been recommissioned by the Money Advice Service (MAS) to follow-up with participants of a pioneering research project about the financial capability of children and young people. The study interviewed parents and their children in spring 2017, and sought to understand what they thought about money, key behaviours and how they manage their finances.
The re-contact survey is designed to track the financial capability of the 15-17-year olds that we have interviewed previously.
The core aims of the project are to see if the Money Advice Service can understand more about:
• How children and young people manage their money, and whether this has changed since 2017
• What financial decisions children of different ages and life-stages are able to make
• How MAS can help families manage their money better in the future
Our researchers will be re-contacting young people directly from May 2018, so please keep a look out for one of our regional interviewers. Alternatively, young people can complete the survey at your own convenience online. All eligible households will be notified by email or post in advance. Your invitation email/letter will contain your unique login code and full instructions about how to complete the survey and collect your reward.
This follow-up will take place in May 2018, and the survey will last around 20 minutes. All participants will receive £20-worth of Love2Shop vouchers that can be used in a wide variety of retail and entertainment stores.
Please be aware that all information collected will be confidential and stored in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act. BMG Research is a company partner of the Market Research Society (MRS) and abides by their rules.
