Why are we consulting?

The government is abolishing the national scheme for Council Tax Benefit. In its place local authorities are required to develop a local scheme. Brent Council is consulting on draft propsals for a new local scheme. Feedback from this consultation will be used by Brent Council’s Executive Committee in deciding the detail of the new scheme – no later than 31st January 2013. The new scheme will come into place on 1st April 2013.
