The aim of the Harlesden Town Centre scheme is to improve the local environment in Harlesden by reducing the impact of motor vehicles thereby improving conditions for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users. It will provide wider footways, reduce street clutter, provide new trees and street furniture, revise parking arrangements and include changes to the controlled parking zone (CPZ) boundaries.
Two options are being consulted on:
Option A which retains the existing one way system and Option B which prohibits motor vehicles except buses and deliveries from High Street Harlesden between the Jubilee clock tower and Tavistock Road providing a shared space area.
Exhibitions of the proposals will be held during the consultation period. Council officers and members of the Harlesden Town Team will also be available to discuss the options and answer questions.
Larger scale plans will be available to view throughout the consultation period at Harlesden Library within normal opening hours.
