In addition to the mainstream and specialist research services offered by BMG, we also have a dedicated Policy Unit comprising a core of experienced policy researchers. The team has extensive collective experience of applied social policy research and evaluation within the fields of:

• unemployment and labour market disadvantage
• labour market and welfare to work programme evaluation
• learning and skills, and
• regeneration, renewal and community cohesion.

The Policy Unit benefits from two Account Directors (Philip Roe and Karen Kellard), an Account Manager (Mary Costello) and Research Executive (David Godfrey). The policy work undertaken within the Unit often utilises the expertise within other areas of BMG, including in the cultural sector (Chris Owen and Laura Venn), in local government and the third sector (Dawn Hands) and in employer relations (June Wiseman). The team also has a wide network of external contacts and working relationships with colleagues based in academic institutions and research centres.
