Exploring School Improvement Needs and Practices in London Schools

Solicitors Regulation Authority – Evaluation of Work Based Learning

The Mayor of London’s Education Inquiry, established in December 2011 and due to report in September 2012, sets out to explore the key challenges facing London’s primary and secondary schools and to make recommendations on practical action with key partners. Further information on the Inquiry can be found at http://www.london.gov.uk/priorities/young-people/education-training/mayors-education-inquiry

Feeding into this Inquiry, the Department for Education, on behalf of the Greater London Authority, is undertaking an important survey of London schools in order to gather views on school improvement and whether the provision available meets head teachers’ needs.

BMG Research has been commissioned to carry out the survey by telephone. Our team of professional telephone interviewers will be interviewing 600 to 700 heads and senior leaders of maintained and academy schools across inner and outer London. Interviews will take place during May 2012, at times convenient to respondents.

All information provided by schools will be treated in strictest confidence by BMG. Those participating in the survey will have the option of receiving a summary report of the results and also the Education Inquiry’s final report.

BMG Research is fully compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998, is registered with the Data Protection Registrar and is a member of the Market Research Society (MRS).

For more information about the survey please contact Ceri Matthias, Associate Account Director in the BMG Research team, on 0121 333 6006 or email ceri.matthias@bmgresearch.co.uk
