Cambridge City Council Employee Engagement Survey 2011

Cambridge City Council Employee Engagement Survey 2011

In April 2011, Cambridge City Council commissioned BMG Research to deliver a programme of research exploring levels of employee engagement. Having last conducted a survey in 2007, the research is looking to be redesigned to reflect the changing times and the current challenges being faced by local authorities.

As such, pre-survey focus groups are planned to bring on board a group of ‘survey champions’ that can be utilised to promote the survey, as well as give advice and feedback on the survey process and design. In addition, a great deal of effort has been placed on engaging with senior managers to understand the current context and the varying challenges that are being faced internally across the council. The survey will be distributed to all 1,100 employees via paper or online methods, and an action planning workshop will be integral in putting the results of the research into action moving forwards.
